Making a New Friend

Subject: Making a New Friend Sat 16 Feb 2008, 8:03 pm

Ireth twirled about, leaping and bouncing. She was dancing out of sheer boredom. She was a good dancer, but she didn't like to dance by herself. She was waiting for some one to show up. They had sent her an owl to meet her here at precisely 4:00 p.m. She was here right on time, but the other person was not. She didn't even know who they were. She continued to swirl and dance and spin. Soon, she got to tired and layed down on one of the couches to rest. She closed her eyes.

Ireth was getting tired of waiting. She had been here for half an hour already and still no one showed up. Sighing, she picked up her books in her arms and went out side. She wasn't looking where she was going when she ran into someone. "Sorry" she muttered. She stood up and looked at the person who she had bumped into.

He picked up the dropped books and stood up, holding out his hand. "Hi, im Draco Mal... just Draco." Handing her back her books he look at her expectantly. After all, he was a new person.

Ireth shook is hand. "Slytherin Prince, huh?" she said. She took her books and said, "I'm Ireth. I would love to stay and chat, but I must be going to potions." She started to walk off, but stopped when she felt a hand on her arm.

He didn't know what he was doing, he felt like he needed to talk to her. In fact, he seemed like doing that a lot lately. He would have to blame it on hormones. "Why were you in the Room of Requirements?" he asked tentatively.

She smiled. "Well, I was waiting for someone. They sent me an owl telling me to meet them here, but that was well over an hour again... I think... Well, they never showed up and now I have to go to class."

"Maybe I could walk you to class." he said, still not dropping his hand from her arm.

She laughed. "Really? I would never think that you of all people would want to walk with some one like me. And I am a second year too! You really are funny like every one says. And I am quite sure that your house would highly disapprove." She yanked her arm from his grasped. "I'm sorry, but I really really must leave now." she said, and started walking.

That was it. 'I am tired of being turned down! So I don't have the famous Malfoy name anymore! I am still Draco. I will walk her to class whether she likes it or not.' Walking up behind her, he stepped in pace and didn't stop until they had reached the Potions room.

Aiden thought it would be the perfect opprotunity to repay Draco for always teasing him about his dyslexia. He did what any reasonable person would do. He took the opprotunity. Besides, it would be fun. "Oi Draco, so you've finally resorted to flirting with a second year, eh?" Aiden said to Draco.

Draco cringed. Ireth turned around. He also turned and faced Aiden. "No, and if you had any sense in that head of your, then you would know that it is actually called being kind." Draco folded his arms across his chest and cocked his head to one side. He glanced at Ireth to find her blushing.

Ireth turned to see some one she didn't know, but by the way Draco addressed him, they apparently knew each other. "Well, I really have to get to class now. Thank you Draco." she said, seeing him smile. She turned and went into the classroom, not wanting to get in on a fight.

"That is none of your business!" he growled. "And for your information, I let him win. I thought it would help boost his self esteem seeing as how you are always making fun of him!" He was getting angry now. 'Walk away, Draco. Just walk away and you won't have to go through anything else today.' He breathed deeply.

Draco was seething was annoyance and anger. He clenched and unclenched his hands, deciding what to do. "It's typical for you Gryffindor to pick fights." he said quietly. Turning around, he sighed and started to walk away. He put a hand on his wand just in case.

Draco turned on his heal and looked at Aiden. "You want to fight? Fine! But I won't fight back. Oh, and by the way, there are consequences to what you do." He smiled and pulled out his wand, folding his arms and tapping the magical instrument against his shoulder. "We do want to fight, but only when necessary. And I seem to recall that you are the one that started this!"

"Professor... may I please go to the lavatory?" she asked. Snape slowly nodded his head yes. Getting up, she opened the heavy door to see Aiden a fair distance from each other, but still fighting. She closed the door. "Are you two still arguing?" she said. Looking from Aiden to Draco and back again, she put her hands on her hips and waited an answer. She didn't really have to go, she just wanted to make sure everything was alright out here.

"What could we have possibly done to you?!" he shouted. "You are a sixth year and we are only in our third year! And I don't see how we could have possibly made your life a living hell when we barely see each other!" Draco was getting annoyed. This was insane!
